Over the past couple of days I had fun redesigning a ship seen in Halo 4's final mission, Midnight, to make sure it fit the aesthetic of the UNSC fleet seen in Sins of the Prophets, a total conversion mod for the RTS game Sins of a Solar Empire. I was very lucky to have great input from the likes of Jared Harris and others working on the mod. The last image is the ship I was redesigning.
I was quite limited in what I could change overall shape wise but I saw the need to break up the large hull plating on top while simplifying the detailing to help it be a bit easier on the eye, especially given this is for an RTS game. I also liked adding the runway for the top hanger flanked by cannons. To keep that inset shape seen on the original but give it purpose.
